Editorial Policy
Everything published on this site follows a documented process for accuracy, clinical review, and honesty. Here's how we hold ourselves accountable.
Last updated: July 14, 2026Re: Reasonable Accommodation β Emotional Support Animal
1. Our Mission
Misinformation about emotional support animals and psychiatric service dogs is everywhere β from fake registries to outdated legal claims. Our editorial mission is to publish content that is accurate, current, clearly sourced, and genuinely useful to Florida pet owners navigating housing and travel rights.
2. How Content Is Created
- Research first: writers work from primary sources β the Fair Housing Act, HUD guidance, DOT air-travel rules, the ADA, and Florida Statutes (including SB 1084) β rather than secondhand blog claims.
- Written by professionals: content is drafted by experienced health writers familiar with U.S. disability and housing law.
- Clinically reviewed: pages that touch on mental health conditions, qualification criteria, or the evaluation process are reviewed by a licensed mental health professional on our clinical team before publication.
3. Accuracy & Updates
Laws and agency guidance change. We review core legal and clinical pages at least every 12 months β and immediately when relevant statutes, HUD guidance, or DOT rules change. Each major page displays a "Last updated" date.
4. Honesty About Our Service
- We will never claim that everyone qualifies for a letter, that letters guarantee outcomes, or that ESAs have public-access rights they do not have.
- We clearly distinguish informational content from promotional content.
- Testimonials reflect real patient experiences and are lightly edited only for length and privacy.
5. Corrections
If you spot an error β legal, clinical, or factual β email care@floridaesaletter.org with "Correction" in the subject line. Verified errors are corrected promptly, and material corrections are noted on the affected page.
6. Advertising & Conflicts
We do not accept sponsored posts, affiliate placements, or paid endorsements in our educational content. Our only revenue comes from the evaluation services described on our pricing page.
